Every home router has a default gateway IP address you can type into a browser to access its admin panel. Use the table below to find your router's login page. How to Find Your Router's IP Address
Not sure which IP your router uses? Follow these steps to find your Default Gateway:
- Windows: Open Command Prompt and run
ipconfig. Look for "Default Gateway" under your active network adapter. - Mac / Linux: Open Terminal and run
ip route | grep defaultornetstat -nr | grep default. - Android / iOS: Go to Wi-Fi settings, tap your network, and look for "Gateway" or "Router" in the connection details.
How to Log In to Your Router
- Make sure your device is connected to the router (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable).
- Open any web browser and type the router's IP address in the address bar (e.g.
http://192.168.1.1). - Enter your username and password. Try admin / admin if you haven't changed them, or check the label on the back of your router.
- Once logged in, you can change Wi-Fi settings, passwords, port forwarding, DNS, and more.
